Pink Lady Houseboat

The Pink Lady houseboat was a passion project of mine. In 2012 I purchased a houseboat in South Seattle as a way to live in the city on my own without having the price tag that often comes with it. I knew that eventually I’d want to buy a house, so after two-and-a-half years of easy-living on the water, I decided to make the leap to home ownership on land. Over the next four-and-a-half years, I slowly chipped away at renovating the boat to be able to sell move-in-ready, with the hopes of turning a profit. Below is a website I created using Squarespace that served as an educational platform for prospective buyers. Since I was marketing and listing on my own (someone who is not in the real estate business), I wanted to created a web presence to foster a sense of legitimacy of the sale. I also wanted potential buyers to understand what they were getting into as a liveaboard, so I provided extensive information on the boat itself, the marina that it resided at, and the neighborhood. I’m happy to say, that having the website as a tool proved to be worth the time and energy, as the Pink Lady did eventually find a new owner.
